How can I keep category posts on a particular page?

      Hi guys,
      So i downloaded a plugin called “List category posts” plugin. It uses a short code to direct category posts to a particular page.
      However,the posts only appear as text links on the page I have assigned it to.

      Here’s what it looks like:

      #1 Viewers arrive at:
      http://mysite.com/downloads/
      The see a post in the form of a link like
      • Post- Blah blah blah

      #2 Viewers click on the link:
      • Post- Blah blah blah
      and it takes them to this page:
      http://mysite.com/2015/01/30/my-post/

      My questions are:

      1. How can keep all posts on this page?
      http://mysite.com/downloads/
      (I know if I use the blog page template it will work, but the problem with that is it shows all my blog roll posts…)

      2. Is there some code and/or simple method (I don’t know php) I can use to do this without using a plugin? I really want to keep my plugin count very low.
