      I really like the slider on top of the main page, for sticky posts. How could I make the image on the slider look smaller? I am using some images that are 640 x 360, but they are being displayed much larger. The same in regular post, before the grid. I’d like the image to look smaller – or at least at the same size I have crearted them – and not bigger.

      Short answer: you can’t. The consistency of the slider depends on the dimensions of the images. Were they to be arbitrary they would break the whole site.
