      Hi-

      I understand from a past thread that there is an issue with the logo? I cannot get a logo 218×60 to display in my header (www.chineblog.com) as in the tutorial. If have tried every combination of settings and reversed the dimensions and I still get the logo confined to a small area on the far left. I have reenabled the text title for the moment, but I want the logo to be the full 218px wide covering the title text area. It seems there is a bug? When might this be fixed?

      I just did a test in WordPress 4.0 with Enlightenment 1.0.8 and this image:

      The steps I followed under Theme Options → Logo are:

      • Set logo dimensions to 218×60
      • Check “Hide Site Title Text”
      • Save Settings
      • Click on “Choose Logo”
      • Upload image above and click “Use as Logo”
      • Save Settings

      With these exact steps the image displays as intended:

      While the logo implementation is made as flexible as possible it’s still subject to the limitations of the spae it should fit in. The navbar is 80 pixels high and the maximum height the logo can take is 60 pixels. No matter how you put it a 232×1000 pixels image will look like a severely cramped square in that space.

      I tried the steps above and its didn’t work for me. In following these steps and permutations of them, in all cases the logo remained stuck in tiny for in the square tot he left of the title text. Did I screw up something in my custom CSS?

      Did you delete the old image before changing the settings? Due to the way WordPress core handles images it is necessary to upload the image after the settings have been changed.

      Let me go into a bit more technical detail: Internally image sizes are associated to a unique handle. In case of the logo this handle is 'enlightenment-site-logo'. In contrast the images that reside physically in the upload folder are associated directly with their size. This measure is to prevent orphaning of image thumbnails, for example when a plugin that registered an image size through a handle is deactivated, that size is still available to WordPress core. For that reason when an image is requested through a handle, an exact size match is performed and if not found the closest size is sent. That’s why when uploading an image before changing its settings sometimes results in a differently sized image. Since WordPress doesn’t resize images on the fly, those settings are necessary. So it’s important to always set the image size before uploading the image to make sure you get the right dimensions.

      If by header image you mean logo then it’s not the size limit of the logo but the size limit of the navbar. You can’t display an image larger than it’s container. If you want a larger logo you need to rethink the entire logic of the navbar.

      After 2 days of struggling,
      finally,
      I found out how to change the logo size.
      Copy this under Appearance/Edit CSS:

      .navbar-brand > .site-logo {
      display: inline-block;
      width: auto;
      max-height: 120px;
      vertical-align: top;
      -webkit-transition: height .25s ease, max-height .25s ease;
      -moz-transition: height .25s ease, max-height .25s ease;
      -ms-transition: height .25s ease, max-height .25s ease;
      -o-transition: height .25s ease, max-height .25s ease;
      transition: height .25s ease, max-height .25s ease;
      }

      Change the “max-height: XXXpx” to the size you like.
      BUT….
      my Navbar (Menu bar) shrink to “MORE”….
      please help!

      PS: I MUST have a bigger logo otherwise my superior will reject the design for sure.

      I know onedesign is working on new version to fix this problem,
      but I’ve no time to wait,
      so I check the navbar sidebar using web browser under check element and found out the menu bar and its container is set to fixed height 80px (with large menu selected), so I’ve tried to select all setting which included “80px” (I know I’m stupid but I’m a struggling graphic designer…) and change to my logo size which is “150px”, here its the code I’ve copied to Appearance/theme option/design/custom css:

      Please delete everything in “(description for wp newbie as me)”

      So the css code involve 2 parts:
      1. Container which restrain the menu and logo size.
      2. Logo height in both normal web browser and mobile browser.

      At first I’ve made a mistake,
      I thought @media is only affect mobile setting which its actually affect the logo size in normal web browser!

      My logo is only 55pix high and it still makes it so small I can hardly see it (it is 16×16 when it displays on the live page). So what is the solution for a logo that SHOULD fit into the space? Also, when I try to upload the logo to my media library, it freezes up so I can never choose “Use As Logo”. However, it does show up in the library anyhow… It freezes like this on any browser that I’ve tried, and 2 different computers and only when in the Theme Options/Logo section – not when I upload images directly to the media library.

      Thanks for this thread!, solve my logo issues…btw please note that you have to nvigate over some other theme settings or pages of your desktop view, after set the dimensions of your logo and before selecting the logo with that dimensions.

      May to let the server update the info, but right now I can sleep like a child with this solved!!!
