    What are “correct” dimensions for the slider? And how big is “huge”? 20cm? 🙂

    It’s even more easy. You don’t need the plugin.

    You can do it with a new category (e.g. “hidden”). Add all blog post you want to hide only to that category “hidden”. Add the “sticky” tag to these blog post and attach an article picture as well

    In “Design/Theme Options” goto “Porfolio Page” and choose your new category “hidden” as the Portfolio Category.

    In “Design/Theme Options” goto “Home Page” and tick “Exclude Portfolio Category from main loop” at “Exclude Portfolio”.

    Add the CSS code mentioned above.

    I made an example on my page but NO GUARANTEE how long it will be there as I play around alot with the theme… 🙂

    Ok, here is the solution:

    1) Install “WP Hide Post” plugin
    2) Create a blog page with an image for the slider
    3) Set the blog page to sticky to be shown in the slider (somewhere on the blog creation page)
    4) Set the page to “hide everywhere” (somewhere on the blog creation page)
    5) Publish the blog page as usual
    6) Add this to your CSS file:
    #slider .hentry a {
    display:none;
    }

    and you’re good to go !!!

    Repeat step 1-5 for additional blog page. No one will ever see or find your blog page where the image for the slider came from nor can he click on the slider anymore.

    The images in the slider have posts attached to them. That’s where the picture come from. These posts you want to hide?

    So when people click on the slider image it take them to a hidden post or page? Does that make sense?

    The “Home” page (http://demo.onedesigns.com/pinboard/) shows the attached article image with a width of 322px and is determined by the width of the column. Therefore the image can not be wider than the “Home” page column.

    The “Astronomical Clock” page (http://demo.onedesigns.com/pinboard/?p=212) has the same image attached to the post, but this time not as an “article image” but as a “standard image”. The image width is determinded by the cloumn size of the page, which is more or less (depending on the space between the column of the “Home” page”) double the size of the “Home” page column width, as it spans over two columns.

    The final picture when clicking on the image on the “Astronomical Clock” page is defined by the size you selected while uploading the image.

    A golden rule for getting help is posting ONE question per post – maybe somebody knows an answer to at least one of them. 🙂

    As I said before the demo is more or less explained in the readme,txt. Some stuff needs some “trial and error” which I admit can be a bit time consuming.

    As I said before: There is no thumbnail for the “astronomical clock”.

    The “Home” page shows the attached article image with a width of 322px and is calculated to the width of the column. Therefore it can not be wider than that in the “Home” page.

    The “Astronomical Clock” page (http://demo.onedesigns.com/pinboard/?p=212) has the same image attached but this time not as an article image but a standard image. The image width of this page is defined by the cloumn page, which is more or less (depending on the space between the column of the “Home” page”) double the size of the “Home” page, as it includes two columns.

    The final picture when clicking on the image on the “Astronomical Clock” page is defined by the size you selected while uploading the image.

    Not sure I understand fully what you’re talking about…

    First, the “astronimical clock”, you are referring to, has no thumbnails. A thumbnails is generated for a gallery, beeing defined at the “Options/Media” page.

    What you seem talking about is the article image which defined by the width of the column.

    There is a golden rule for posting: NO “Also….” 😉 Just open another thread with a new topic.

    But to answer your question: the box is the standard viewer for images. When you click on the “astronimical clock” image in the post, the same viewer will open.

    Here is a living example of how I did it on my blog:

    #wrapper {
    width:900px;
    }

    = Overall width of the blog

    .twothirdcol {
    width:75%;
    }

    = blogposts width

    .threecol {
    width:25%;
    }

    = sidebar width (blogpost+sidebar = 100%)

    .twocol {
    width:49%;
    }

    = Width ofthe two colums in the blogpost (each)

    In my case the .twocol only works with less than 50% (each) because I tweaked the margin around the images as well.

    NO GUARANTEE that it will still look like when you visit my page, as I play around alot with the setting… 🙂

    This one is to be consired carefully AND it also depends which template you choose. That sets the width for the main column by percentage from an absolute number. The sidebar colum just fill in the rest by 100%.

    Saying that a parameter change in your css depends what your are actually using.

    Example for a two third for the main column (standard):

    .twothirdcol {
    width: 66.7%;
    }

    You can change it to any number, the sidebar will always follow to fill the rest with 100%

    The abolute number for the width of your blog is controlled by:

    #wrapper {
    width:1020px;
    }
