Unfortunately, I can’t post my example as I had to abandon Pinboard theme in order to keep my site up and running. I know that this problem has existed for me since 3.9.1 was released. I may have had the math correct, but the issue seems to be in the margins — I’m just not sure how. Strangely, my present settings seem are showing 6 columns in addition to the sidebar.Things are falling apart when the screen is re-sized below 960.
I think I’ve either made some mistake with the margins, or possibly incorrectly entered a vault somewhere in the .css. If you have any clues to where I might look, I’d appreciate it, but I’m aware it might just be up to me to go in and track the problem down.
Also, do you have a paypal donation point? I know providing a free theme and then having to deal with people like me who don’t entirely know what they are doing can feel a bit thankless.

However, now, for the briefest of moments, everything lays out nearly perfect for six columns, but the five columns of content seem to just slightly overlap the sidebar, then the layout snaps to five columns total, with four columns of content set too far apart.
I think the issue is with the sidebar being set to wide, but I can’t see where this is set, especially in relationship to your

I was able to get moving in a good direction with your information. I can easily change to a six column set up without the sidebar and the theme lays out beautifully.
However, once I switch to a sidebar layout, I run into a problem where all the columns shrink down and get pushed left. It is almost as there are two calls to resize. (For the briefest of moments, you can see the columns fill the fill width without the sidebar, then the sidebar comes in.) Any thoughts as to what I might have missed?

http://maternitygallery.com/gallery/If you re-size your browser to a width less than 960, the sidebar gets pushed off to the bottom and the layout looks great (except, of course, the sidebar isn’t where it belongs)
I would post the code, but based on the work I’ve done thus far, the
.fivecoland.sixcolfunctions require insertion at multiple points in multiple files beyond the style.css. It seems to require changes to the functions.php file and, in order to set the columns to 5 or 6, these options need to be added to the theme.options (in the includes folder) as well. Is this correct?
