    I get around the problem not very elegantly by adding the excerpt in the title of the page:

    OK, I’ve found an inelegant workaround. I think the calls to FitVids.js that is supposed to fix the scaling of videos isn’t working, so I’ve added a script in the post that call FitVids() and that correctly sizes the videos. So I hope the creators of this theme are reading this and will know to fix this.

    Looking at this a little more closely, it looks like the videos only resize to either 480 pixels or 640 pixels wide, so not exactly responsive. I suppose I could put in a bit of jquery that resizes the videos, but obviously a css fix would be a lot better.

    In addition to the other problems reported, posts that have been designated display the video full width on the main page of the blog. My first three posts are video posts and now each video is overlapping the next.

    I appreciate the work in getting out the new theme, but I’m afraid these problems are vexing. Is the previous theme still available?

    Oh, I thought I was so close. I liked the idea of making the ellipsis the edit link by overriding this function (in functions.php):

    I thought instead of just returning the ellipsis, it could also wrap the ellipsis with edit_post_link, but I forgot edit_post_link only works in TheLoop.

    It would also mean that non-administrators would see the edit link, but it would be cunningly disguised as an ellipsis. Unless they were logged in as an administrator, it wouldn’t work anyway.

    Thanks for that, astandera. I found out my IE and Flash Player on my virtual Windows was out of date and had to update those. Looks like it works there, which is my biggest concern. Just wish I had an iPhone (my iOS Simulator is old and I need to update to Mountain Lion before I can download the new version). It’s always something.

    Thanks for responding, astandera, but unfortunately your solution doesn’t help me (although it may help dearstress). But because of your response, I looked at the problem more closely and added to my CSS definition this:

    @media screen and (max-width: 760px) {
    #access {
    background-color: transparent;
    }
    }

    This turns #access transparent when the width is less than 760 pixels. This allows me to “see through” #access and see the logo underneath.

    I just gave up too easily before when searching for the one bit of CSS that directly changed the position of #access.

    Yes, dearstress, your theme does the same as mine. Did you change any of the colors in the theme menu items? I assume you changed the type color to that teal. Not quite sure what you mean by the header being taller than the image. Do you mean the image that comprises the sliders?

    Maybe it’s just a Mac thing, but for me, in Chrome, Firefox and Safari, the header becomes my green background color and the logo disappears. Like I say, it’s quite acceptable, just not perfect. (I did try switching to a smaller logo, and it still disappears, if I specify a background color for the menu items other than the one predefined in the theme.)

    Daniel, I can certainly understand not showing an edit link to ordinary subscribers, but it would be very convenient for me, the site administrator, to be able to directly edit a post from the home page of the blog. I need little more than an icon or the word “Edit” in small print as a link. Maybe even as insignificant as making the ellipsis at the end of the abbreviated text be the edit link.

    I tried adding the edit_post_link code to index.php, but the links are all crammed at the top of the container div.

    The many wonderful features of this theme far outweigh the loss of the edit button, however, and so I happily continue to use Pinboard. I put it under the category of: It would be nice.

    I feel so stupid. I swear I looked a thousand times in the Theme options and never noticed Open image links in a lightbox

    Once I unchecked that, no double-posts.

    Alexander, could you confirm which FancyBox plugin you use? The only one that works for me is the simply named FancyBox. All the others have the double image problem, where sometimes the Pinboard gallery image is on top of the FancyBox image, and sometimes the other way.
