      For anyone still interested in this solution, it does EXACTLY what you want, and no hassle with modifying the php. Simple get the plugin “WP Filter Post Category” and follow the directions. I used a specific catagory called “featured” and used that as the only pictures on my homepage, while the other pages they show up fine.

      I’m sure there is a more complicated way and more thorough way to reorder images too, but I simply changed the dates of the posts. Works on the edit menu, a quick solution.

      Hey there I’ve also tried simply adding the query_posts argument, and also had the same errors as the others.
