Any idea why I can’t set the width of an audio element?
I tried the following parameters, without success:
[audio width="200" size="200" style="width:200px"]In a post or a page, the audio player is displayed with 100 % width (660px), as far as I can see.
That doesn’t disturb me, but I also want to have the audio player in a text widget in the sidebar. It’s too big for the sidebar: The player gets divided into 2 parts. The above part is the main part (width 100 %, approx 330px) and the bottom part is only the volume control (width 50px). That looks awful.Any idea how width can be set?

Empirically I found out that the mp3 file format causes the problem in FF (no controls shown). Adding an ogg file as additional source did the trick!
This works also in a normal page, it doesn’t have to be a audio format post.I didn’t manage to get it via the attachment function, but I had success by editing the HTML tab like this (Replace the brackets with html tag symbols):
[p][audio][br /]
[source src=”path.mp3″][br /]
[source src=”path.ogg”][br /]
[/audio][/p]Be careful. Switching back to the visual tab may destroy the html code. This is bloody annoying…

First I installed the WP plugin “Media Element.js” and tried it with [ audio src ] shortcode (in the visual tab) like they told on the plugin site. It worked in IE. In Firefox the player appeared for a short instant but then disappeared.
Then I realized that – obviously – the Media Element js stuff is already integrated in the Pinboard theme. On the demo site (link in opening post) I saw in the output source code that the player used HTML5 (less than/greater than) tags. I tried this on my blog (in the html tab), too. Result: In IE it works, but in Firefox I see only the player background (black/grey gradient) but no controls. Can you help me please?

I didn’t touch the CSS file. I thought the social icons would show up by default when I paste URLs in the related input fields.Deprecated: Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /var/html/dev/wp/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 4371Deprecated: Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /var/html/dev/wp/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 4371Notice: Trying to get property 'comment_author_email' of non-object in /var/html/dev/wp/wp-content/plugins/fv-gravatar-cache/fv-gravatar-cache.php on line 236staud

I’ve read your tutorial before, thanks for it! Unfortunately it didn’t solve my problem – maybe I did something wrong! To Michelle and others:
I found a workaround for that problem meanwhile. I edited the wp query code in the blog-template.php. Between [ ( ‘posts_per_page’ ), ] and [ ‘paged’ => max( 1, get_query_var( ‘paged’ ) ) ] I pasted this: [ ‘cat’ => 5, ]
(A code posting function in this forum would be great!)
That means only posts of the category ID 5 will be shown. This is my “news” category. I got this help at the wordpress.org forum. I guess you can also change the code in ordner NOT to show the category ID with the slider-images. If you know php this would be quite easy, I guess. But me – I don’t 😀Deprecated: Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /var/html/dev/wp/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 4371Deprecated: Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /var/html/dev/wp/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 4371Notice: Trying to get property 'comment_author_email' of non-object in /var/html/dev/wp/wp-content/plugins/fv-gravatar-cache/fv-gravatar-cache.php on line 236staud

English version of my post to get in touch with others than German users:I have a page named “News” which runs under the template “Blog” (blog-template.php). Unfortunately it lists also the sticky posts which are made exclusively for the header slider. Obviously their visibility is only switched off on the front page but not on other pages. On the page “news” I only want posts with the category “news” be displayed or at least, NO sticky posts from the slider category. So I guess that in the blog-template.php the following code has to be edited in order to show only 1 category id or at least exclude one. Myself being a php noob, I hope you can help me:

Oh dear, I noticed that I can’t post any CODE here :-((((
Could you look it up in your own blog-template.php – please?- This reply was modified 12 years, 5 months ago by staud.
