    A simple (?) few lines of code to reverse the order of thumbnails would be enough for me incidentally. I don’t need to be able to do anything fancy with them, just have them display in order of newest first.

    I tried to use the ‘create gallery’ option in a standard post, rather than using the setup I have been using, but it didn’t work.

    Thumbnails would post but clicking them would either take me to ‘page not found’ or I’d get an image embedded in its own page. The images wouldn’t open in the lightbox.

    Also, setting up a featured image for the slider made that image appear in the post itself, above the thumbnails.

    I looked around online for solutions and tried deleting my images, deleting my posts, reuploading images to new posts and nothing worked.

    I’m probably doing something very simple wrong but I don’t know what. I followed setting up a gallery from the wordpress tutorial to the letter.

    Doh.. solved my own problem. I used the plugin ‘ultimate category excluder’ instead and that one works.

    Any help with the gallery function would still be welcome though

    In addition, using standard posting and setting a featured image puts the featured image into the post above the gallery, which doesn’t work anyway because if you don’t get the missing page error, the image loads into the post and not in the lightbox.

    I’ve been messing about for hours, deleting, reloading, renaming, rewriting posts and the gallery feature does not appear to work with this theme.

    If it does, a tutorial might be useful because nothing I’ve found online solves the many problems I have had getting this to work. The only way I can get it to work is by using the method I’ve used, which is not good because there’s no control over the thumbs!!

    Hi.. I had a go at reworking my posts using the create gallery feature with standard post format and I could create thumbnails, but clicking them gave me a page not found error. So I deleted the images from the library and tried again after reupping them – same result. So then I deleted the images and the post itself and made a new post, reupped the images as a gallery with the standard post format and the same thing happened. The thumbnails show up, but clicking them returns ‘page not found’.

    So I deleted the post, used gallery format and reloaded everything in the same way as I had them before, and it all works. But of course I can’t reorder my thumbnails, so I’m screwed.

    All sorted out thanks to playing around. Took me well over a day in total hours, but it is just about how I like it.

    You still need to get that thumbnail arrangement thing sorted though.

    It’s an obvious thing to want new stuff at the top of the gallery, so PLEASE can you try and sort that out with simple addition of a few lines of code, rather than in a full update? After having to remake my site from scratch, it is not fun and I don’t want to have to do it again in future…

    I’m in the same position. When you update your theme, all your changes are lost. I only updated mine because it got corrupted and I cannot remember my edits, so until I get a response, I’m in the same position as you.

    It’s not that simple because I can’t see a way to edit the post and remove the images from a gallery. When I try to edit a post, the post is blank in the edit window. I have to remove the image from the library itself completely, using permanently delete, then reupload it.

    This is a very clunky way of doing things, so if it IS possible to do it the way you say, please explain how. It is annoying to have to delete from the library and reload to the correct post every time I want to shift things around.

    I’d also like to know how to make my submenu list drop down rather than go upwards. Minimatica 10.0.8 (I’m not interested in upgrading and redoing all my edits)

    Anybody able to help with this and the gallery thumbnail issue, or should I just dump the theme completely and try something else?

    So has anyone managed to work out how to do this satisfactorily yet?

    I don’t really want to update the theme, if this function has been added to 1.0.9, because I’ll lose all my modifications and I really don’t want to have to try to remember all my edits!

    Surely this gallery sort can be arranged with a line or two of code?

    I’d like to know this too please. I want to add more galleries to my menu but won’t until I know how to make it look right.

    Have you set your featured image? If not there’s a featured image box on the right of posts if you edit. Click that, select the image you want and it should show on the slider.

    I think Firefox displays the template slightly differently. I’m not a very technical person so don’t know what it is doing, but (for example) I’ve found that the white divider which appears at the bottom of my gallery posts on Safari is at the top with Firefox. Which is odd, and I don’t know why, but it suggests there may be a slight issue with Firefox unless you are very careful with what you do with the template.
